Research on the Conceptual Design of Spinning Tricopter

According to the future development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV),a new spinning flight mode is proposed,and a spinning tricopter with a highly simplified structure is designed.During the flight of the spinning tricopter,the torque generated by the rotation of the rotor in the same direction drives the fuselage to spin in the opposite direction,which generates additional lift at the wings while achieving better stability.The conceptual design of the spinning tricopter is introduced,the principle of spinning flight mode is analyzed,and its feasibility is demonstrated.Based on this new flight mode,a five-degree-of-freedom spin flight control method is proposed,and the outlook of its possible application is provided.
